In the early 1980’s Joe Schwartz (Sr) went to work for a large vending company. From vending machine repair to management, he learned the ins and outs of the vending business. In the mid 1990’s Joe left the corporate world of vending and started his own business. In the beginning Joe focused on providing cost-effective, reliable vending machine and restaurant equipment repair. Within a year Joe grew the company to include the refurbishment and resale of vending machines and a small vending route. Joe’s son, Joe (Jr), started working with his father on the business during the summers while back from college and after graduation joined the business full time.
By providing cost effective solutions to local vendors with reliable refurbished vending machines, professional machine repair, and a vending route that has grown to hundreds of machines throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding area; family owned and operated J. S. Sales has maintained honest and fair business practices, solidifying its place in the world of vending in the Twin Cities for over 20 years.
In September of 2025, J.S. Sales and Van Pelt Vending came together as one to offer even more full-service vending options to our customers. Still family owned and operated; by combining the two businesses we’ve expanded our product and vending options to meet the ever growing and changing demands of the vending industry. We look forward to continuing to work with all of our current customers and create new relationships throughout the coming years.
